Ruba Unkan Ergener is a founding partner at Unkan & Üstündağ.

Ruba is highly experienced in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and shareholder disputes. She has advised clients active in energy, cement, industry, retail, automotive, insurance and IT sectors with respect to their inbound and outbound investments and partnerships.

Ruba is advising domestic and foreign investors, angel investors and start-ups with respect to commercial law, mergers and acquisitions projects, asset and share purchase agreements and joint venture agreements.

Ruba is also a certified Mediator registered with the mediators' registry of the Republic of Turkey’s Ministry of Justice.

Ruba started her legal career at a leading Turkish law firm. Thereafter, she moved her career in house and worked for many years at one of Turkey’s leading industrial and financial conglomerates, where she served as legal director, member of the executive management team and member of the ethics board. Ruba also served as board member on the board of directors of publicly traded companies, namely, CarrefourSA and BriSA Bridgestone. In 2021, Ruba established Unkan & Üstündağ with co-founder Fatma Üstündağ.

Ruba currently serves on the board of directors of the International Law Institute (ILI), Istanbul Chapter.
